The main body of the 2 1/2 story house has a symmetrical front, porch and gable. It has two distinctive features - a round, three-story tower on the front corner, and four gables (one on each side of the house). The tower has nine windows in front and a conical roof on top. Typically, the house has three shingle patters -- half-circle butts on the tower, square shingles on the main body of the house, and diamond cuts on three gables. A large bay extends from the north side of the house, and a board with octagonal decorations tops the second story in front. The color scheme is tan walls with terra cotta shutters. The property was lot 43 when the initial town layout was one on October 25, 1897. One previous owner claimed the house was built in 1883, while another believed the date was 1888 (Doyles, as of 1992). Regardless of which date is correct, it appears in its present form on the 1894 panoramic map of Atlantic Highlands.

Streetscape: A row of four well-preserved houses -- three are Victorian -- line the eastern side of the block.
