The Watershed Nature Center is located in Edwardsville, Illinois. It is a community project with many members of the city participating in the restoration of natural tallgrass prairies, wetlands, and forests. The site is open for use by the public, with many visitors choosing to experience the extensive trail system. The site has a welcome center, with the center being a place for educational opportunities. One great fact about this place is that the land that the park now sits on was once the city's sewage lagoon, but through the work and support of several local residents and organizations, the Watershed Nature Center is a place that all can enjoy southwestern Illinois nature.
