This 17-foot tall statue of William Wallace was presented to Baltimore on St. Andrew's Day, November 30, 1893. It was a gift from William Wallace Spence, a Scottish immigrant and descendant of Wallace the Scot. The statue is a replica of a statue residing in Scotland, and its inscription reads "Wallace, Patriot and Martyr for Scottish Liberty, 1305."
