Vue d'ensemble
This is the only one Mosque located within the east village boundaries and second oldest mosque in New York. It was established in 1976, mainly by Bangladeshi immigrants under supervision of Imam Ibrahim Chowdry. Current building was later purchased with donated money and now it is a property of council. Predominantly, worshipers are sunny Muslims, however they open to other branch of Islam as well. Mosque is open everyday, for mandatory 5-time prayer. It also runs Sunday school, youth programs, and Arabic classes. Today, worshipers come from all over the world. Nowdays head of the council is Imam Abu Sufein.
