123-ABC School Readiness Program This program enhances children's understanding of numbers, colours, shapes, and other cognitive concepts through hands on activities. Gym time follows.

Amazing Me This program is designed to help girls' self esteem through physical, mental and social activities based on weekly themes. Guest speakers will provide information about positive lifestyle choices while focussing on teamwork, building friendships, and most of all, having fun. Feature topics will include positive body image, physical fitness, skin and hair care, and clothing trends.

ART-Rageous Children will discover, explore and create. They can express themselves and use their imagination by participating in activities like glueing, painting, cutting, and more. Gym time to follow.

Before and After School Program This program focusses on helping children in building self-esteem, values and leadership skills.

Book Worms Story Time This program is designed to foster a child's love of books and reading while they participate in a Story Time Circle, then make a craft relating to the story.

Bronze Cross This program teaches the difference between lifesaving and lifeguarding, giving direction on how to safely supervise in an aquatic facility. Emergency procedures, injury assessment and spinal injury rescue are covered.

Bronze Medallion This is designed to enhance understanding of lifesaving principles and skills. Participants learn tows, carries, release methods, victim assessment and emergency care through this 20 hour program. The manual and exam are included in the course fee.

Cookie Monster Kids Children learn to create and explore using quick and easy steps to prepare recipes. The best part is eating what they make. Gym time to follow.

Dinosaur World This program allows participants to explore the fascinating and the ferocious as they dig up enormous fun. Crafts, games, and lots of exploration await all.

Family Gym and Swim This morning program provides the opportunity for parent and child to be active in a positive setting. Gym equipment, games and sports enhance the child's motor skills and communication.

Fun Factory Parents and children participate in a variety of creative experiences learning in a hands on environment. Participants use their imagination and creativity while exploring various sensory materials. Gym time to follow.

Introduction to Dance This program allows the new dancer to explore movement, flexibility, and rhythm. Participants learn basic steps, leaps, jumps, and turns in a variety of styles.

It's About Now! This program provides cancer patients and their spouse or support person an opportunity to benefit from exercise at YMCA Sudbury. Participants are referred through the Regional Cancer Program of the Hôpital régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital.

Kinder Kids Gymnastics This class will help promote flexibility, body awareness and balance. Children will learn basic skills for gymnastics while having lots of fun. Parents must accompany their child. Each session is 30 minutes.

Learn to Swim This is a four-level instructional program for children 6 to 12 years old. It introduces a series of easy to learn skills to the non-swimmer in a values-based environment. Successful completion of the four levels indicates that the learner is capable of performing a variety of skills in shallow and deep water, including the fundamentals of the front crawl. The Otter and Seal levels are 30 minutes classes. The Dolphin and Swimmer levels are 45 minute classes.

L'il Dippers Water Activity Program This program is an eight level water activity program for children from infancy to 5 years old. There are three age groups, infant to 18 months, 18 months to 3 years of age, and 3 to 5 years of age. An adult must participate with those in the infant to 3 years of age groups.

Master Swimmer Participants complete the Star Patrol and Bronze Star awards, develop advanced stroke techniques, improve endurance and prepare for an aquatic leadership or lifeguard role.

Mud Works Children's Play Group This program helps children discover the exciting world of science through creative experimentation.

National Lifeguard Service Crash Course This 48 hour program builds on the skills, knowledge and values taught in Lifesaving awards. Manuals and exam are included in the course fee.

Nursery School This program is for children 18 months to 5 years of age. It provides a warm, nurturing environment where children receive individual attention in order to build affection and trust. This transitional program provides the new experiences two-year-olds thrive on such as taking apart and putting together, mixing and matching, filling and emptying, sorting and building. All programs emphasize outdoor play to promote coordination and strength. Program offerings may vary at each location.

Open Swim Non-member Open Swim fees are $12.00 per family, $5.00 per child or $12.00 per adult.

Parents Night Out Parents can enjoy a night out while the children enjoy the gym, pool, games, crafts and a pizza dinner.

Paws, Claws, Wings and Things This program introduces children to a variety of interesting animals, their habitats and what makes them unique.

Playtime Pals Parents and their children will experience nature and seasonal wonders through activities and crafts. Weather permitting, each class will include a different outdoor activity like snow painting, sidewalk chalk, bubble blowing, nature collages and bug hunts. Weather appropriate attire is required.

Private Squash Lessons Private lessons from a pro are available upon request to improve game skills.

School Days Out Care Crafts, games, swimming, gym time, outdoor activities for children 3 to 12 years old. Parents are asked to label all clothing and containers, send a bathing suit, towel, life jacket if required, outdoor attire, indoor shoes, a lunch, beverage and snacks. This program is offered at full day sites throughout the area.

Standard First Aid / CPR Certification Program Provides an opportunity for participants to learn the skills that make them effective in the case of an emergency. This certification is required prior to taking the National Lifeguard Service Certification.

Star Swim Program The YMCA Star Program introduces the swimmer to a wide variety of more advanced swimming and water sport skills in a values based environment. Skills include lifesaving, synchronized swimming, competitive swimming and aquatic leadership. The program consists of six levels, Star 1 to Star 6. The program improves swimming ability, furthers water sport and safety skills, and develops endurance and new strokes.

Summer Camp Program YMCA Sudbury operates a variety of summer camp programs including both day and overnight camps. Day camps provide fun, challenging activities that are safe and appropriate for the age and skill level of each camper. Overnight camps include YMCA's John Island Camp and YMCA's Camp Falcona. Overnight camps give campers a chance to experience camp life in depth and develop independence and social skills in a group living environment.

Toddler Rock From classical to country, toddlers will use their ears, voices, and bodies to enjoy the wonderful world of music. They will also enjoy sharing music, finger plays, nursery rhymes and creative movement.

Tumble Time Parent-Child Play Group Parents and caregivers can enjoy some time in the gym with their children using a variety of games and equipment.

Wiggles and Giggles Play Group Children are provided with opportunities to learn concepts like shapes, colours, numbers, and letters while enjoying a circle activity and a story, followed by crafts and games relating to the day's theme.

Wonder Works Play Group This program offers a play group for children whose parents are members. Activities include storytime, crafts, games and toys. Children can be signed in for a maximum of 2 hours. Parents must remain in the building while children are in the program.

Youth Squash Program This program teaches the basic rules of squash, emphasizing fun. An additional fee of $50.00 is required for those enrolled in the advanced lessons.
