This National Park Service site on the Pamlico Sound is a great place to ride bikes, fish, swim, lauch kites or find very quiet places to read a good book or just meditate. Bathrooms and showers are available along with grills and picnic tables. Historical community cemetery located close to soundside beach.

It is open to the public. Easy access for kayak launching, kite launching.
Wonderful play spot for children due to calm and shallow waters.
Showers available to rinse off after water activities.
I also like hiking along the coast.
