The Mara Conservancy plays an active role in developing, maintaining, and encouraging conservation efforts within the northwestern sector of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, known as the Mara Triangle. The aims are:

■A reduction of poaching in the Mara Triangle and the surrounding area
■Improved infrastructure through road maintenance within the Triangle, as well as access roads to camps and lodges outside of the Triangle
■Well-maintained network of secondary roads and tracks to improve wildlife viewing
■Restoration of existing ranger stations and installation of renewable energy and water harvesting systems
■Establishment a transparent and modern (IT based) revenue collection systems
■Strengthened relationships between the Mara Triangle and the surrounding areas by encouraging community projects
■Promotion of responsible eco-tourism principles among camps and lodges
