Vue d'ensemble
Snug Harbor Cultural Center & botanical garden is a set of 19th century architecturally significant buildings all set in an 83-acre park. It was originally built as a home for retired sailors and became Staten Island’s cultural center. Snug Harbor has beautiful gardens and galleries worth visiting. Among the gardens is a garden called the Garden of Healing that is dedicated to the women and men that have lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks. The Neptune Fountain, The Tuscan Garden and Villa, The New York Chinese Scholar's Garden, The Visitor's Center, and The Newhouse Center are also located on the grounds of Snug Harbor.
