Adventure Play is an open access playground where young people control what they do and how they do it. With the support of trained Playworkers, children are able to develop their own values and opinions, and assess risks through 'free play' such as building dens, using tools, painting, creating play equipment, controled fires, and much more. It's free of charge, open to children up to 14 years of age, but under 8's need to be accompanied by an adult. Wear *old* clothes - you WILL get messy!

The entire community, including children, have been involved in the design and building of the playground.  It is important that everyone, particularly the children, feel that it belongs to them, and the playground will be constantly changing through their involvement. The Welsh Assembly Government's Play Policy states that "play encompasses children's behaviour which is freely chosen, personally directed and intrinsically motivated." A core belief of Adventure Play project is that children must have the opportunities to play unhindered by adults.
