16 Seventh Avenue
The curving roof on both sides of the front gable shows an oriental influence in this hillside Victorian home built around 1809. Oriental details continue inside the house. Until the early 1980s, the porch balusters were also of an oriental-influenced geometric design. Also, the front porch originally extended half-way around the house, but later it was partly enclosed at the side to add living space. Two stories of porches in the front yield expansive vistas of the Atlantic Highlands Marina, Sandy Hook Bay, and the New York skyline.
