The Maryland Book Bank
Overview
We energetically and passionately do the work of getting free books into the hands of children. The Book Bank distributes free children's books to families, teachers, schools, and organizations throughout Maryland. Our Home Library Program is designed to help build home libraries during the critical years of early literacy. The Maryland Book Bank piloted the Home Library Program in several Baltimore City schools between 2014 and 2016, sending second graders home with five age-appropriate books per month from October through June. The program is expanding to reach students in K-3. Cash and book donations are accepted any time.
