Overview

WastePlan is a national on-site waste management company that specializes in recycling and reducing waste going to landfill.

WastePlan provides on-site recycling and waste management services to close to 500 businesses, including hotels, distribution centres, factories, offices-blocks and shopping malls. Their services include management of general, organic, medical, laboratory, hazardous and recyclable waste and reports on the entire waste stream, accessible on a web-based reporting system.

WastePlan is the largest company of its kind in the Western Cape and the 2nd largest in South Africa.

They are also contracted by the City of Cape Town to door-to-door collections of residential recycling at approximately 110 000 households spread over several areas across the Peninsula. Because of these weekly collections, an average of 1700 tons of waste is diverted from landfill every month, and that number is growing by the day.
