Overview
Bandar al Rowdha is a public marina located half an hour outside of Muscat proper, nearer to Old Muscat and located next to the lavish Al Bustan Hotel. It is a popular site for all manner of ocean recreation. Best known are seasonal whale-watching tours. Oman and the area where Bandar al Rowdha is located lends itself particularly well to the annual influx of migrating whales, including the majestic Sperm Whale. Boat owners and renters launch private excursions from the docks and local fishermen and tour guides travel out daily in boats ranging from simple wooden outboard-motored fishing boats to large yachts.
