Braveheart recruits and trains volunteers and runs self-help support groups for adults with heart problems. Volunteers provide information sessions and encouragement to small groups of people with heart problems, meeting once every three weeks, for two hours over the period of one year.
At Braveheart meetings, group members are given the opportunity to discuss subjects relating to heart disease such as heart health, medication, healthy eating, cholesterol, physical activity, smoking, alcohol, stress/relaxation, cycle of change and self-management.
