Overview

No votes yet

Installed in 2007 behind Ortonville's historic Old Mill, the modified stream buffer protects Kearsley Creek, a trout stream and headwaters to the Flint River, from Stormwater pollution. Intended as a demonstration for riparian property owners, the deep roots of the native plants take up and filter our stormwater pollution, helping to keep this State-designated trout stream clean and cool. The buffer is maintained by Ortonville's native Landscape Team
