The KZN Sharks Board is the only organization of its kind in the world, and actively supports and promotes the conservation of sharks. The Sharks Board encourages members of the public to visit their offices in Umhlanga Rocks to learn more about the important role of sharks in the marine ecosystem. The main attractions include the display hall with a variety of lifelike replicas of sharks, fish, and rays, the 20-minute audio-visual presentation and dissection, and the curio shop “Fathoms”. The Sharks Board also offers boat trips where the public has an opportunity to see the shark nets being serviced and to learn more about the marine environment.

Driving Directions: Take the N2 north from Durban towards Umhlanga. Take the Umhlanga Rocks off-ramp and turn right onto the M41. Follow this road and take the Umhlanga Rocks Drive off-ramp. Turn left into Umhlanga Rocks Drive and follow this road. After the second circular intersection, Umhlanga Rocks Drive becomes Herrwood Drive,and theKZNSharks Board is located on the left.
