Overview
Das UfAZ wurde 1998 als Online-Plattform entwickelt und besaß keine Vereinsform. Träger des DBU-geförderten Projektes war die Universität Osnabrück. Im Jahr 2001 wechselte die Trägerschaft des Online-Portals zum Interdisziplinären Zentrum für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (IZNE) an der Universität Göttingen.
Zum 10jährigen Bestehen der Online-Plattform wurde im Jahr 2008 ein ehrenamtlich betriebener, gemeinnütziger Verein gegründet. Mit ihm werden zukünftig innovative, kommunikativ anspruchsvolle Projekte im Bereich "nachhaltige Entwicklung" und "Naturschutz" durchgeführt.
