Overview
Salvo Volunteer Fire Department, made up entirely of volunteers, serves Salvo. Volunteer firefighters respond to structure and wildlands fires and works with Dare County Emergency Medical Services.
Department volunteers train on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. The department is supported by a property tax in the village of Salvo.
The department, located on Roth Road, has a station dedicated in May 2009 and housing a brush truck, two pumpers and a 100-foot aerial truck and a meeting hall.
