덕유산 멋조롱딱정벌레

국명 : 멋조롱박딱정벌레
학명 : Damaster mirabilissimus mirabilissimus Ishikawa & Deuve
(상세 설명)
몸길이 수컷 23-25mm, 암컷 25-28mm이다. 검은색 바탕에 암청색, 청록색 광택을 띠는 화려한 종이다. 머리가 크고, 큰턱이 강하게 발달하였다. 목이 유난히 굵고 딱지날개는 긴 타원형으로 그물눈처럼 되어 있다. 뒷날개가 퇴화되어 날지 못한다. 한국 고유종으로 산지의 원시림에 드물게 서식한다. 성충은 5-9월에 출현한다. 유충과 성충은 모두 야행성이며 지렁이, 달팽이, 인시류 유충 등을 잡아먹는다. 덕유산에는 덕유조롱박딱정벌레라는 아종이 살고 있다.
