Shag Bark Hickory Trees
Overview
Found on Rutland Road
The hickory nuts are tasty but not easy to crack (though not as hard as black walnuts, and the hulls fall right off when they're ripe.) The native Americans crushed the nuts and shells together and boiled them, then used the fat that rose to the top like butter.
