Daane Residence - Green Home

Overview

The Daane Residence features many green principles, including: all new geothermal heating and cooling; three dual flush toilets; three rain barrels with two other gutters diverted into garden soaker hoses; 11 solartubes for natural day lighting; APOC (www.apieceofcleveland.com) counters in master bathroom and kitchen; all new double pane low-e argon gas-filled Eagle windows; low VOC paints; Pure Seal R-30 Eco-friendly insulation; Linoleum floors in kitchen; Tank-less hot water heater; Bamboo curtains; recycled content gray tile in master bath; outdoor gas lamp replaced by high efficiency electric on daylight sensor; and an energy audit by Repower Solutions.

Further, outdoor features include a lawn replaced with ground covers, perennials and native plants, on site food and yard waste composting; and a 30 x 30 agriculture garden on property to grow food.
