Greater Ohio Policy Center

Overview
Greater Ohio Policy Center is the state’s smart growth organization.
We promote -–through research, public education and grassroots advocacy – public policy to grow Ohio’s economy and improve the state’s quality of life through intelligent land use. Greater Ohio supports policies and programs that revitalize Ohio’s urban cores and regions, promotes regional cooperation and protects Ohio’s open space, natural resources and farmland.
We are nonpartisan, nonprofit and foundation funded.
Greater Ohio:
* Educates Ohioans about the regional, economic, demographic and public policy trends shaping Ohio's current growth patterns
* Promotes public policies that will encourage regional cooperation, especially concerning land-use planning, transportation strategies and economic development practices
* Preserves existing farmland and natural resources
* Creates better tools to help Ohio's downtowns and urban centers compete in the 21st century
* Enhances transportation options that give Ohioans an alternative to traffic congestion
* Raises public awareness about how statewide land-use and development issues are interrelated and how neglecting them hurts all of Ohio
