Greenleaf Family Center is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) social service organization that has served families since 1912. Beginning as the Charity Organization Society of Akron, Ohio by Goodyear founder F. A. Seiberling and Firestone founder Harvey Firestone, the original mission of nearly 100 years ago continues today as Greenleaf Family Center endeavors to strengthen families in our community through counseling, education, and support.

Each year, Greenleaf Family Center serves more than 11,000 area families who face the challenges of daily living and personal crises that arise from a variety of problems, including personal adjustment, marital problems, teenage parenting, alcohol and drug addictions, financial instability and school adjustment.

The agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation, certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health as an outpatient mental health facility, is a member of the Ohio Council of Behavioral Health and Family Services Providers, as well as the Alliance for Children and Families.
