Heights Emergency Food Center
Overview
Opened in October of 1981 with the aid of the Heights Interfaith Council, HEFC provides more than 575 families with a three day supply of food once a month. Staffed by volunteers and overseen by a volunteer board of directors, the nonprofit agency is supported through gifts from religious institutions; service and social organizations; public, parochial and private schools; federal grants and supermarket settlements; and individuals.
100% of donations to HEFC is spent on food.
