Let’s Grow Akron, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose primary goal is to educate children about the importance of diversity in our community. To obtain this goal, LGA transforms vacant wastelands into economically viable gardens. Encouraging disadvantaged adults and children to participate in productive activity achieves this goal. By growing some of their own food and creating a sense of ownership within the community, these gardens provide an opportunity to help people help themselves. Gardening for their families fosters personal strength, integrity, responsibility and pride among individuals.

Let’s Grow Akron was started back in 1989. By renewing grants from several foundations around the Akron area, we are able to sustain our programs each year. A number of companies and organizations have donated tools and or seeds throughout the years. Each year, we try to build upon and expand previous programs. Our reputation as a service organization in the Akron area helps us to establish and maintain our credibility. WE TURN HARD WORK INTO SMILES!
