Precious Resources is an eco-friendly preschool. We provide a unique curriculum that centers around the impact we have on the sustainability of our planet. Recycling, reducing, and reusing are incorporated into the student’s daily routine. We investigate the many ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint.

Lessons in conservation preservation, saving our rainforests, protecting endangered species, composting, and organic gardening are part of our program. Our students learn about caring for their bodies through exercise, proper nutrition, stress reduction and rest.

Our preschool space has been designed “green” by LEED certified designers and we use eco-friendly products when available. Our floors are made of bamboo, and the paint on our walls, as well as our furniture are environmentally friendly, thus limiting or eliminating the exposure of our students to VOC’s (volatile organic compounds), formaldehyde, and other toxic products and pollutants. All while respecting and limiting the destruction of the Earth’s natural resources.
Our school supplies consist of “green” products. We use recycled paper and pencils and crayons that include products made of beeswax and soy. Traditional crayons, although non-toxic, are made of paraffin wax, which is a petroleum product. We use eco-friendly paints and play dough. Many of our learning materials and toys are environmentally friendly.

Our on-going goal is to search for new alternatives where existing ones are less than perfect. This is our commitment to you, our children and our planet.

As stewards of this planet, we are becoming more aware that our resources are limited and it is our responsibility to leave this planet a better place than we found it. We believe that this can best be accomplished by educating our most precious resource – our children – about protecting and preserving our most natural resource – our planet.
