Queens Botanical Garden

Overview
The botanical garden uses water recycling, solar power, recycled materials, and a platinum LEED facility. It also has beautiful landscapes, plants, and educational tours. They have two special gardens: the Senior Garden - where Senior Gardeners are able to exercise in a fresh-air environment, and the Children’s Garden - where they offer a hands-on program for children ages 5-12 to learn about plants and nature while having fun. They also offer information online about how families can reduce their own carbon footprint and improve the environment. They have an internship program for high school and college students interested in related fields. Go Green Queens!
