Bronx Community College: Center for Sustainable Energy
The Center for Sustainable Energy is part of the City University of New York. Established in 2003, the program has trained over 1500 students for careers in renewable energy research, solar installation, energy efficient and sustainable design as the means to protect the environment, enhance public health and position New York City to capture emerging economic development opportunities in the energy sector. CSE also plays a key role in helping CUNY fulfill its PlaNYC University Challenge goal of reducing its emissions by 30% by 2017. CSE is the action arm of the New York City Solar America City partnership with the Department of Energy.
