Northern Manhattan and New Jersey: the Palisades

Overview
The Palisades
The Palisades are an iconic national natural landmark rising from the shore of the Hudson River. These magnificent cliffs are home to many species of wildlife and a significant migration corridor to many species of birds. The Palisades are a popular hiking area and contain many historical sites. Another popular way to experience the beauty of the Palisades is to observe these cliffs from the Eastern bank of the Hudson River, in Northern Manhattan.
For the past few months, the Palisades have been the center of heated controversy between LG electronics, unions and the community over a new building of irregular height and change of zoning laws in Englewood, NJ. The suggested new LG headquarters is meant to rise above the tree line, and new zoning laws will possibly allow it for more development projects to do the same.
