Dell Cheetah Conservation Centre
Overview
The Dell Cheetah Centre is devoted to the conservation and preservation of the endangered cheetah of sub-saharan Africa. A new and progressive program on the reserve is focusing on the eventual re-introduction of certain cheetah populations back into the wild. Of all the big cats of Africa, the cheetah is particularly vulnerable due to its small jaw and difficulty in catching prey in comparison to the leopard and lion. Being the fastest land mammal and carrying its signature physical trait of the black tear lines on its face, the cheetah is an elegant and exquisite cat species indigenous to this region.
