Love Park

Cultural SiteArt Spot

Overview

No votes yet

Officially named JFK Plaza, this small space is affectionately known as Love Park. Made famous by Robert Indiana's "Love" Sculpture, Love Park is in the middle of downtown Philadelphia. The sculpture is oft replicated, including a version in NYC, but Philly is the original. Originally installed in 1976 for the bicentennial, the sculpture was removed two years later, but it was missed so much by the locals that it was reinstalled and it has stayed ever since.
