The Philadelphia Museum of Art is Philadelphia's most notable museum and among the largest museums in the United States. Although it was established in 1876, it gained notoriety exactly one hundred years later in the first "Rocky" film. Today it features a large and diverse collection of art and artifacts dating from the 1st Century C.E. to the 20th Century.
