Capitol Lake Memorials
Overview
The war memorials honoring South Dakota's service members and war dead is located on Capitol Lake. Nearby are the memorials honoring fallen law enforcement as well as Governor George Mikkelson and government officials killed in a plane crash. The war memorials include a fountain and life sized bronze sculptures by South Dakota artists. The visitors center is open limited hours, public restroom available when open.
