Ikea has many different features, including the free water taxi to South Street Seaport, the free Ikea shuttle buses to Brooklyn Borough Hall, Smith and 9th Street and 4th Ave 9th Street, and the waterfront park. One of Ikea's best features that most people do not know about is its green roof. The green roof keeps it cool during the summer and insulates it during the winter. The green roof conserves energy thus saving Ikea money. It also reduces heat island effect and absorbs storm water which prevents overflow of untreated sewage into the river during storms.

Also, the site Ikea is on used to be a graving dock, a place you could take a ship to get fixed. If you look carefully at the asphalt in the Ikea parking lot you can still see the cobblestones that represent the outline of the bulkhead from the graving dock. See if you can find them!
