Living History Museum

Overview
The Living History Museum is one of the must-see sites in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It is not your average museum. The museum was started by a couple of guys who began collecting items that were being thrown out or donated to them by locals. Thanks to everything they found and received, they were able to turn their garage into a museum that spans decades of Red Hook history. Every inch of the garage, floor to ceiling, is covered in Brooklyn memorabilia. They have everything from 1950s cars with lightning bolts on them to the last old pay phone booth in Brooklyn used for a Superman movie! Take a look and you might discover some hidden history of the neighborhood.

"Great experience, for the kids. To see the history flow out to you from their pictures and the items stored there. Free admission as well, all the more great."
