Central Virginia Business & Construction Association (CVBCA)
Overview
Central Virginia Business & Construction Association (CVBCA), the State's most prominent black business association was created in 1989 to address the disparity in contract opportunities for minority businesses. CVBCA's mission is to promote and inculcate the values of economic parity between and among businesses owned by people of color; and to further promote the advancement of these businesses in the mainstream economy with a primary focus on the construction and service industries. CVBCA's role is to serve as an agent of advocacy, solidarity and facilitator of mutually beneficial entrepreneurial relationships between the public/private business sectors, and businesses of color. CVBCA's goal is to increase business revenues for minority businesses. To achieve this goal, the organization promotes business opportunities between minority businesses and the corporate and major contracting community; promotes business-to-business contracting among minority businesses; and educational, training and support services for members.
