Established in 1962, the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) General Clinical Research Center occupies the entire South and East Wings of the 8th floor of the MCVH North Hospital building. With ten inpatient research beds, outpatient space, and a number of highly skilled research personnel, the Center supports clinical investigation into the pathophysiology of human disease, and the testing of new methods of diagnosis and treatment of disease; areas of investigation include neurology, genetics, obesity, and pediatrics.
