El Hoyo Restaurant
Overview
El Hoyo is one of the most traditional Chilean restaurants in Santiago© and is located in the Commune of Santiago. The architecture of the restaurant represents the construction style in Chile in the beginning of the XX century. Founded by the Chilean Bejamin Valenzuela in 1912, the restaurant is still operated by the fifth generation family. After the recognized American chef Anthony Bourdain visited the restaurant in 2009, for his TV show program “No Reservation”, the number of foreign visitors has increased considerable, despite the fact that the restaurant is within a considerable distance from the main tourist areas. Nevertheless the restaurant is easy to access by Estacion Central Subway station, with the 1 train.
