Overview
The Sarasota County Library System offers equal access to information, fosters lifelong learning and inspires community engagement. From the first library, established in 1907 by the Sarasota Town Improvement Society, to the newest partnership library at Historic Spanish Point, the nine county libraries continue to respond to the evolving needs of citizens. Featuring a diverse collection of resources, engaging programs for all ages, free computer access and the One Book project that celebrates reading together, your public library is the place to discover, learn and dream.
Hours: Monday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Thursday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday Closed
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certified Gold Building. The Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) designation is an internationally recognized green building certification that independently verifies that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
