Shelby Financial Group is dedicated to the education of individual investors and business owners regarding comprehensive financial management using a platform of socially responsible investments. The company empowers its clients to use their financial resources to make a profound and lasting difference in the world. The company is a member of Co-Op America as well as the Social Investment Forum, and has begun including recycling and other environmental issues in its electronic newsletters to clients. Not only is Shelby conducting its business in an environmentally sound manner, it is spreading the wealth of good environmental practices and influencing its customers.

Shelby Financial Group became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2007. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
