Stevens Point Brewery
Overview
Stevens Point Brewery is the fifth oldest brewery in America having survived the Civil War, the Great Depression and Prohibition. It was founded in 1857 by Frank Wahle and George Ruder. State-owned, independently operated, and still brewing today, the brewery is a historical site that also supports the local and environmental community. Instead of creating more carbon dioxide, the brewery harvests it during the brewing process to reuse later during the bottling process. Also, instead of disposing grains used in the brewing process, the brewery gives the used grains to local farmers for use as animal feed.
