Nerinx Hall High School has been working on environmental issues for the past five years as part of their School Improvement Plan. In 2010 they purchased a dishwasher and reusable dishes and utensils in order to eliminate the use of polystyrene and other plastic products in the cafeteria. The school does not sell bottled water and has given all students reusable water bottles. Students are encouraged to send papers or homework to teachers electronically and when not possible, to double-side print. The school encourages carpooling and promotes "No Fuel Fridays," weather permitting. Every other week students are given a "Green Fact" on the Nerinx Hall's morning show.
