Inspired by the design of a medieval church, the roundhouse was hand crafted from locally grown and sustainably managed timber and was constructed to be in-keeping with its woodland surroundings. The roundhouse has a fine example of a green roof, which provides great protection, helps reduce run-off by absorbing water, and blends in beautifully with its surroundings. It provides very atmospheric shelter for groups and individuals using the Reserve as well as a focus for events.

The Bishopswood Centre runs a year-round program of fantastic discovery events which are extremely popular - book early! Their public events can be found in the 'Environmental Events' leaflet - pick on up today!
