Gower Heritage Centre

Overview
The Gower Heritage Centre is on the Swansea Sustainability Trail.
The Centre’s main aim is to preserve, restore and maintain the 12th Century water mill as the centre piece of the complex. It also endeavors to promote public knowledge, interest and understanding of its place in local history and its crafts. The Centre houses the water mill and associated exhibits relating to the local history of the area. There is usually a selection of local crafts people making local unique gifts from sustainable local products. The Centre takes a sustainable approach to its development and has installed solar panels on the roof of its visitor toilets, providing hot water heated by the sun! They also use hydro-power in their shower block.
The centre grinds it's own grain and sells the flour as well as using a traditional apple press to make cider.
