Mumbles Development Trust and Ty Hanes

Overview
Mumbles Development Trust (MDT) is involved in many regeneration and sustainability projects in the Mumbles area. It was established by the community to actively promote, develop and organise self-help community projects and initiatives that aim to enhance the local environment and community heritage.
Mumbles Development Trust set up Ty Hanes in 2002 principally as a community resource centre designed to be a focus and exhibit space for local history exhibitions, in partnership with Oystermouth Historical Association. History and genealogy workshops are also run from the centre and local history CD ROMs, videos and publications are available for sale.
In an informal sense Ty Hanes is also a community networking centre and recycling collection point. Mumbles Development Trust is based in the same building with many notable projects to its name including the Mumbles Local Produce Market, beach cleans, litter-picks, the Back Lanes project and Mumbles Matters, the MDT newsletter on-line, to name a few!
