We are a community group who set up and/or facilitate community initiatives, clubs and events. Our aim are to challenge social isolation and economic stagnation in our rural town, whilst promoting environmental awareness, and personal and community well-being and resilience.

We are managers of a community building in the town itself, a community garden plot on the outskirts of town, and a 15 hectare woodland site in the neighbouring Forest.

Our projects include a Community Store comprising a food co-op, wood fuel co-op, retail points for local artisans, crafts people, and food producers, a community garden with polly tunnel, veg plot, fruit bushes, and a parent & toddler plot, a forest orchard renovated from a historic plum orchard, a cook and eat intergenerational programme, Mindfulness-based support for individuals and mindfulness approaches in all our projects, a sew and knit open house, a film club and community cinema, a traditional drumming group, an accredited environmental volunteering and training scheme, an informal womens support network, a social foresrty enteprise, and a Job Club.

Our woodland site includes a mile-long labyrinth pathway, known as Y Caerdroia, built and maintained by volunteers from the community which has played host to a number of arts and environmental events including six, to date, Sensory Labyrinth Performances, a storytelling festival, a health awareness open day, an adult learners open day, and environmental training initiatives for beneficiaries from social services, drug and alcohol rehabilitation services, and other service providers.

We promote volunteering as a means to re-skill and skill-share, network, become work-ready, build personal attributes, and engage with other members of the community in a mutually beneficial way.
