The school is situated just north of Swansea city centre. The school was built in 1875 and has been extensively remodelled over the years. The school hosts a daycare facility for two to four yearolds, runs a breakfast club and many extra-curricular activities including French, magazine, singing, environment, maths, netball, football, cricket, cross country, tennis, gymnastics, art. The school presently has the first Green Flag Eco school award and the First Year Swansea Healthy School Award. Waun wen primary aims to be a small, friendly happy school. Fun activities in learning is high on the agenda. The children and teachers know each other well and everyone is valued.
