The Cumberland County Historical Society has created a new dynamic museum that will engage, inspire, and educate visitors of all ages. The newly redesigned facility is on the second floor, expanded to 6300 square feet. The museum encompasses 16 new galleries including a new folk art gallery housing a nationally significant collection, a new Indian School gallery featuring the nation's largest repository of Carlisle Indian School artifacts and archival material. The visitor is greeted by an 11' by 8' county orientation map featuring historical hightlights and much more. In addition to the Miller Gallery on the first floor, a second changing gallery, the Kramer Gallery, provides new incentives for repeated visits.
Dedicated to preserving, collecting and interpreting county history, the CCHS maintains a library and museum at Pitt Street and the Two Mile House on the Walnut Bottom Road.
