The Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center is a gathering place where art, culture, music and politics intentionally collide to inspire social change. The Fogartyville Center is a project of the Peace Education and Action Center (PEACenter) that works to build a culture of peace by nurturing the values and attitudes that give life to the principles of' co-operation, non-violence, respect for human rights and cultural diversity, and democracy. Fogartyville helps fulfill the mission of the PEACenter by providing a space for community groups to come together to discuss issues of concern, fostering the creation and distribution of media and art emphasizing underrepresented voices and perspectives, and promoting empowerment and expression through media and arts education and performance.

Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2015. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
