History of this Location
Priscila Prodoscimi art gallery is in a building that was once the site of the first hotel in Paraty. It was constructed in the 1970s and was called Pensao da Dona Geralda. This site is considered the birthplace of tourism.
Sustainable Features
Priscila Prodoscimi discovered a new art technique about 20 years ago when she was looking for a new way to express herself. In her artwork, she uses simple raw materials which are common in our daily lives. The artwork ranges from $20 for a pair of earrings to $6,000 for her most grand piece. Her technique is sustainable in that she recycles; she also hires local people during the high season.
